Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are all set to compete at the UFC 264 main event. Both fighters are training very hard for the fight as they would love to end the trilogy with a win. The fighters previously faced each other at the UFC 257 event in January 2021. ‘The Diamond had won that fight via a 2nd round TKO.

Since that fight fans have been eagerly waiting for these two fighters to compete again. Now there wish will come true when the two will face each other in what promises to be an epic fight. The UFC 264 event has a plethora of great fights lined up, however, the ‘Notorious’ vs Poirier fight is still the most anticipated one.

The first time Poirier and McGregor faced each other was at the UFC 178 event back in 2014. ‘Notorious’ won that fight’ via a 1st round TKO. During that fight, Poirier was the more popular star, while McGregor was just finding his way in the UFC.

May believe that the reason behind McGregor’s loss was that he focused more on boxing in the previous fight. However, if the fight can get back to his karate and Jiu-Jitsu style, he will create problems for ‘The Diamond’.

Nobody doubts the fact that McGregor has the talent to win this fight. However, people have questioned McGregor’s desire to win, many believe that after achieving so much success, McGregor does not really need to fight and therefore may not give his 100% in the Octagon.

Poirier at this time seems more hungry than ‘Notorious’ and will enter the fight as a slight favorite. However, if there is one thing that UFC fans know is that McGregor can surprise anyone at any time.
