UFC 265, Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane Details: Main Card, Prelims and More

UFC 265 is set to take place on 7th August with two championship bouts scheduled to go down as the main and co-main event of the pay-per-view. No. 2 ranked heavyweight, Derrick Lewis will take on the No. 3 ranked, Ciryl Gane in the main event. The interim heavyweight title will be on the line for this fight.

Double champion Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against No. 5 ranked Juliana Pena in the co-main event. While Nunes is expected to get past Pena, if the challenger can offer something unique and pose the champion problems, remains to be seen.

There will be two more fights set to take place in the main card of the pay-per-view. Former UFC featherweight champion, and current No. 4 ranked bantamweight contender, Jose Aldo will fight the No. 8 ranked Pedro Munhoz in an intriguing clash.

No. 5 and No. 6 ranked welterweights, Michael Chiesa and Vicente Luque will clash at the main card opener slot. Either fighter will look to catapult further in the division with a win.

UFC 265: Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane- Prelims and Early-Prelims

There are 3 fights set to take place in the prelims of the UFC 265 card. No. 10 ranked women’s strawweight contender, Tecia Torres will take on No. 12 ranked Angela Hill in the featured prelims spot. Unranked bantamweights, Song Yadong and Casey Kenney will clash as both men look to enter the rankings.

Unranked contenders of the women’s strawweight division, Karolina Kwalkiewicz, and Jessica Penne will clash in a bid to make a name for themselves.

The early prelims will see a total of 5 fights go down. Light-heavyweights Alonzo Menifield and Ed Herman are set for an entertaining bout. Flyweights Manel Kape and Ode’ Osbourne are expected to do the same. Victoria Leonardo and Melissa Gatto are set to clash in the women’s flyweight division.

Two other bantamweight fights, Vince Morales vs Drako Rodriguez and Johnny Munoz vs Jamey Simmons will conclude the card. Overall the pay-per-view has some great fights with the main event set to be a banger. It will be interesting to see how things play out in August.
