UFC 265 event is all set to be one of the best MMA events of the year. The event has a plethora of glorious fights set for the night. Fighters like Jose Aldo, Pedro Munhoz, and Vicente Luque will compete at the event. However, the biggest fight of the night is the main event clash between Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane.

‘The Black Beast’ and Gane will face each other for the interim UFC Heavyweight championship. Coming into this fight, Lewis is riding high on a 4 fight win streak. The fighter last competed in the UFC at the UFC Vegas 19 event, he faced Curtis Blaydes and won the fight via a 2nd round KO.

With momentum on his side, many would consider Lewis to be the favorite going into the fight. However, his opponent, Ciryl Gane, is no pushover as the French fighter is undefeated in his MMA career. Gane was a Muay Thai kickboxer before joining MMA in 2018. Gane made his presence felt as soon as he joined MMA. In his first fight, Gane won the vacant TKO Heavyweight Championship.

Since then Gane did not look back as he won all of his professional MMA fights to garner an impressive record of (9-0) in MMA. Gane’s last fight was at the UFC Vegas 30 event where he faced and defeated Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision.

The Heavyweight division has been in flux ever since Francis Ngannou became the champion. There was much speculation as to who Ngannou will defend his title against next. However, the interim bout between Ciryl and Lewis became a reality, especially in Ngannou’s absence.

Talking about the fight, most fans and critics will certainly tout Lewis as the favorite. ‘The Black Beast’ is much more experienced than Gane and is also one of the hardest hitters in UFC history. However, Gane is also undefeated across his professional combat sports career, and by defeating Lewis would love to prove how great a fighter he is.
