Undefeated French fighter Ciryl Gane will face ‘The Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis in a heavyweight clash for the UFC interim heavyweight title at UFC 265 inside the Toyota Center in Texas on August 7. It will be the second UFC event of 2021 at the venue after this May’s UFC 262.

The winner of this heavyweight main event is expected to fight ‘The Predator’ Francis Ngannou in a title unification bout. But before the main event, fans will witness another title fight between Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena.
This is a women’s bantamweight championship bout that will feature the most dominant women’s champion in UFC history taking on yet another rising contender.
Derrick Lewis versus Ciryl Gane fight pre-fight analysis
After suffering multiple defeats, Derrick Lewis got his crack at the interim belt as he demolished the other top heavyweights. Now, ‘The Black Beast’ is on an active four-fight winning streak and looks like an unstoppable force to reckon with.

On the other hand, his opponent, Ciryl Gane, earned his shot by winning six fights after entering the UFC. Although Derrick Lewis has unmatched one-punch knockout power, his opponent, ‘Bon Gamin’, is a complete mixed martial artist. The Frenchman is adept at winning fights via decisions, knockouts, and submissions, making him an all-around threat.

Gane has three T/KO, submission and decision wins each in his nine-fight career. Previously, we saw Derrick Lewis struggling against technical fighters like Alexander Volkov. Although Lewis won the fight against Volkov, ‘Drago’ seemed in control for the larger part of the bout.
Lewis is not the best technical fighter and if Gane fights smart, he could end up as the interim champion. However, due to his power, ‘The Black Beast’ will remain a constant threat till the very last second of the fight.
