The UFC is returning to Abu Dhabi for UFC 294 as Dana White announced two blockbuster matchups for the event. Islam Makhachev will defend his title against Charles Oliveira and Khamzat Chimaev will make his much-awaited return against Paulo Costa. Besides, the news has sent fans into a frenzy as they shared their reactions on social media.

Despite rumors that both Khamzat Chimaev and Islam Makhachev would be returning to the Octagon at UFC 294, little information had been made public regarding their opponents. However, fans can now put all uncertainty to rest after Dana White’s major announcements for the Etihad Arena event.

Islam Makhachev won his lightweight title at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. He submitted Charles Oliveira to emerge victorious. However, ‘Do Bronx’ will now have the opportunity to avenge his loss in the UFC’s return to the UAE at the Etihad Arena. Oliveira defeated Beneil Dariush at UFC 289 and that earned him a rematch for the title in the main event of UFC 294.

On the other hand, Dana White also announced the much-awaited return of Khamzat Chimaev against Paulo Costa. Both fighters have been taking shots at each other on social media and are not on the best of terms. They will finally get to settle their beef once and for all inside the Octagon in Abu Dhabi. This led to UFC fans getting excited for big clashes!

People can’t wait for UFC 294!

Fans were happy to see that Dana White booked those matches which they wanted to see for a long time. However, they were not pleased with the UFC president for letting Makhachev fight only in Abu Dhabi. On the flip side, they believe that Paul Costa and Khamzat Chimaev are a perfect match as opponents.

Paulo Costa seemed to be getting some heat even in the comment section. His recent performances haven’t been his best.

The fans predicted that Paul Costa would lose to the undefeated Chimaev. Meanwhile, some were critical of the Makhachev vs. Oliveira rematch. But others believe that the UFC has put on the best matches this year.

In addition to the aforementioned fights, Ikram Aliskerov, who was the initial opponent for Paul Costa, will take on Nassourdine Imavov. There will be more fights coming soon and it seems like the UFC 294 card could be one of the best cards of the year. Will it be able to surpass the UFC 291 card? We will find out soon.
