Sean O’Malley’s next fight will be against his sworn nemesis, Marlon Vera. Regardless, how could Dana White rest easy without giving us one exciting fight after another? The UFC head honcho has planned yet another brilliant bout, this time in the light-heavyweight division.

The UFC 299 card is stacked with names like Dustin Poirier and UFC’s latest addition, Michael ‘Venom’ Page raring to put up a great fight. O’Malley himself will be defending his bantamweight title against ‘Chito’ and now, big names like Ion Cutelaba and Philipe Lins are on it too.

Dana White adds ‘Monstro’ to the mix

Philipe ‘Monstro’ Lins is coming off back-to-back triple wins in his career. His streak seems unstoppable as of now, but will Cutelaba prove to be the one that breaks it finally? ‘The Hulk’ himself has a brilliant record of 17-9-1 and has never looked better.

The fighter is coming off a brutal second-round knockout win against Tanner Boser and will be seen in potentially his best form at UFC 299. And it better be worth it too, since he has lost a few fights coming to this point. His bout with Lins was previously booked for UFC Fight Night 229, however, that ended up getting canceled.

The reasons for the cancellation of the bout aren’t quite clear. Either way, the light heavyweight division is an exciting place to be right now, with Alex Pereira as the new champion. Rumors about his return to the cage are afloat, and with UFC 300 scheduled right after Lins’ bout, it adds another intriguing detail.

Everyone can recall the fateful moment Alex Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka to shake up the light heavyweight division for good. And the first name on his radar? None other than Israel Adesanya, a man who took his belt and went out of action for a while. Will ‘Izzy’ make his comeback at light heavyweight?

If Pereira says so?

Alex Pereira asked Israel Adesanya to “come to daddy” when he defeated Prochazka to claim the vacant belt. The electrifying fight witnessed ‘Poatan’ secure a victory via a knockout. Now, the fighter has adorned not one but two belts around his waist in a short span of time during his UFC career. Will he defend them against Adesanya at UFC 300?

‘Izzy’ claimed how he was looking to have fun now that his belt was gone. And what could be more fun than to continue the rivalry that started during his kickboxing days and has haunted him since? The stone-faced Brazilian does not mince words and doesn’t go back on his warnings. UFC 300 is touted by Dana White to have the biggest main event that would blow everyone’s mind. And Adesanya and Pereira could give the people just that. Will it ever happen?
