The main event of UFC 299 between Marlon “Chito” Vera and “Suga” Sean O’Malley ended up becoming an absolute war. However, the fight heavily favored the UFC bantamweight champion, as although Marlon Vera did manage to land a few good shots on O’Malley, the 29-year-old controlled the entirety of the fight.

Vera, after his loss to the bantamweight champ, didn’t weigh in much on his performance at UFC 299. However, he finally opened up about his fight against “Suga,” and it might end up drawing in some controversies.

Sean O’Malley put on one of the best performances of his career against the Ecuadorean at UFC 299, taking back the only loss of his professional MMA career. O’Malley landed 230 of Vera’s 89 significant strikes, neutralizing all of “Chito’s” offense. Marlon Vera, however, gave an insight on why he was unable to get any proper offense out.

During a recent episode of “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani, the bantamweight title challenger made some accusations about the 17-1 fighter during their fight. During the interview with Helwani, Vera said, “Every time I was grabbing Sean, it was like grabbing a fish out of the water. Maybe he didn’t attempt to cheat, but he was extremely greasy on his hair.”

Addressing the issue, O’Malley’s coach stated, “He’s probably still concussed.
