There are just a few days left before, Sean O’Malley defends his title against the only man that he has ever lost to in his MMA career. But rumors have popped up about Marlon Vera having a bad training camp ahead of UFC 299. However, most fans aren’t sure as to how true these “rumors” are.

Fight fans are more than thrilled to see how a rematch between Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera will play out given that the champ got hit in his peroneal nerve, which led to him eventually getting KO’d. Now fans are worried that they might get robbed of a fight where both fighters would fight at 100 percent due to Aljamain Sterling‘s comments a few days back. However, an insider from Vera’s gym might have some good news for fans.

UFC legend and former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping had some good news to share with MMA fans as he took to his YouTube channel to address the rumor surrounding the UFC 299 fight camp for “Chito”. Michael Bisping’s old head coach Jason Perillo is currently the head coach of the UFC bantamweight title challenger. And given that Bisping and Perillo are still close friends, he revealed what his former coach told him about his fighter’s camp for Sean O’Malley.

Bisping recalled his talk with Perillo and said, “I’m like ‘you seen this? You seen what Aljamain Sterling’s saying? Did he have a bad comp?’ Perillo was laughing his head off. He said ‘No, he did not have a bad camp’ and in fact he sent me some of the footage. Let me tell you right now. Chito Vera is looking like a nasty b*stard. He’s knocking people out in training. They’re bringing in the correct training partners. And by that, I mean taller. I mean longer. And I don’t mean f***ing wrestlers either.”

Bisping seems like he’s confident in Vera’s preparation for O’Malley this coming weekend. However, how did all the talk about Marlon Vera having a bad camp start in the first place?

Aljamain Sterling, during one of his recent podcast episodes, revealed who he was leaning toward in the matchup between Marlon Vera and Sean O’Malley. He seemed to have been leaning towards the fighter who took the belt from him as he heard rumors of the Ecuadorean not having a good fight camp.

Sterling, in the podcast, said, “The only thing I’m concerned about is that I heard… he [Vera] didn’t really have a great camp or a lot of guys to train with, with ‘Chito’ yeah. So, I don’t know how true that is, so with that said, I’m leaning towards O’Malley to get it done.”

Further, Sterling gives his prediction on how the fight could play out. The former champion said he does not see either fighter finishing the other. Rather, ‘Funk Master’ is expecting a ‘Suga’ win by unanimous or split decision.
