Conor McGregor was rumored to return to the cage at UFC 300. However, those speculations eventually drowned out after he announced a fight in July instead. As this date too remains unconfirmed, his PR tour for ‘Road House’ is making waves in the media. Does this mean he could’ve never made it to the April pay-per-view to begin with?

Let’s face it, ‘The Notorious’ has been on a roll with the media with his high-end Hollywood debut where he’s working next to the iconic Jake Gyllenhaal. Conor McGregor, cage over camera?

Conor McGregor and his ambitious return are a topic of much discussion. His UFC 300 return proved too good to be true, but the International Fight Week in June remains a strong and more realistic candidate to host him.

Many looked at his schedule with ‘Road House’ and assumed that he wouldn’t have been able to make it either way to the April event. However, in a latest interview, Conor McGregor denied the speculations wholly. Here’s what he told Ariel Helwani on ‘The MMA Hour’ show.

“You know, it would’ve been, I would’ve adjusted it and I would’ve, I would’ve made it work for sure but I’m happy. . . you know how many champions, how many world champions are on UFC 300, how many world former world champions. . .” He said during the interview. “I can’t wait to see it and I think that light heavyweight fight is going to be an interesting one.”

It looks like the face of the UFC has his priorities in place when it comes to maintaining a fair distance between on-screen and off-screen fighting. Now, there’s yet another announcement from ‘The Notorious’ that may prove to be the last one.

Summer return finalized for McGregor?

Conor McGregor recently revealed that a return for him this coming summer is “all systems go”. Perhaps he and Dana White have finally reached an agreeable spot with his return. What does this mean for the fighter? He confirmed that his bout will be against Michael Chandler.

This means that he might just make his grand entrance to the middleweight division instead of the lightweight, which is closer to his natural weight class and has seen him lift the belt once already. ‘The Notorious’ is perhaps looking for that triple champ status.

He also added that he would have to check his weight once again before finalizing a weight class for his return. Further, he only has two fights left on his contract, so expect some surprises coming your way.

Will he be able to do it? More importantly, is the new return announcement really going to come true this time? Let us know what you believe in the comments.
