Over the past thirty years, the UFC has become synonymous with mixed martial arts. The promotion has done more to popularize the sport more than any other organization and is gearing up to put on its 300th pay-per-view event in April at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
And the UFC puts on the biggest shows for its anniversary cards, with the biggest names in the sport, as it did in the case of UFC 100 and 200. Questions raised around UFC 300 main event
#13 ranked UFC lightweight Renato Moicano, fresh off a unanimous victory over Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night Vegas 8 last night, took to Twitter to voice his concerns over the main event for UFC 300. The warned that if the UFC failed to come up with a headliner that blew fans’ socks off, the promotion would have a mutiny from the fans.
“The question remains who da fook gonna be the UFC 300 main event…. If they don’t come up with some good… that’s going to be a problem…. #ufc300,” he tweeted.
There have been speculations that Leon Edwards may make his third title defence against Belal Muhammad at UFC 300. However, fans and analysts feel this fight may not be big enough to headline the anniversary card.
