Why UFC 299 was preferable?

It cannot be disputed that UFC 300 is a landmark card and arguably the biggest card of the year. However, UFC 299 cannot be scoffed at. This card features many notable personalities apart from O’Malley like Dustin Poirier. Not to mention, this card is taking place at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, United States and historically speaking, the UFC usually has had massive cards there.

That was the incentive behind O’Malley agreeing to fight for UFC 299. In the aforementioned interview, he said, “Oh, I think you look at how big the Miami cards always are. Alex Petta, Izzy rematch, Izzy knocked Alex out in Miami; they always go hard in Miami. They always have massive events in Miami. I actually feel honored to headline UFC 299.”

Safe to say, O’Malley is pleased with the decision to fight at UFC 299. Moreover, his comments about UFC 299 are quite coherent and many MMA pundits would find themselves in agreement with it, including Joe Rogan.
