The Jiri Prochazka vs. Jamahal Hill clash at UFC 311 would be vital to decide the next 205fer in line for the title. Magomed Ankalaev is ranked above both of them and will compete next against god-king Alex Pereira. However, Hill and Prochazka are former champions and have a history with the champ, which gives them the edge.

Prochazka-Hill has been a long time coming. ‘The Czech Samurai’ vacated his belt soon after winning it in 2022. Hill stepped in and defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 to win the vacant title. And fans have been waiting for the two hard hitters to clash ever since. And they’ve finally got it. In this article, we break down both men’s games and make our official prediction for their fight.

UFC 311: Jiri Prochazka vs. Jamahal Hill stats

Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka are both primarily strikers. While Prochzka does have a grappling game, he is much happier to stand and bang on the feet. This is something Hill also excels at. Since their fight is expected to be a slugfest, let us examine their striking before making our prediction. Hill is one of the most dangerous strikers in the entire division, landing, on average, over seven significant strikes per minute, which is stupendous for any fighter in any division, let alone a light heavyweight.

While Jiri Prochazka may not be quite as prolific as ‘Sweet Dreams’ the Czech isn’t far behind landing an impressive over five significant strikes per minute himself. There is no notable difference in their accuracy, though, as both powerhouses successfully land just over fifty percent of the strikes they throw.

The most interesting part of both men’s striking game, however, is their defenses. One of the things Prochazka has been long criticized for is his tendency to keep his chin in the air and his hands low. This is why he absorbs nearly six strikes per minute on average (a stark contrast to Jamahal Hill’s three and a half) and has a striking defense rate of under forty percent.

To be fair, Hill isn’t exactly Floyd Mayweather either and also tends to leave himself open, a firm believer in the ‘take one to give one back’ school of thought. But still, he is able to absorb significantly fewer blows than Prochazka as their stats show. Now let’s come to the heart of the matter- who will win their fight?

Jiri vs. Hill breakdown and prediction

Jamahal Hill fights like a man possessed, as anyone who has ever watched him fight (and the stats) will tell you. But then so does Prochazka. They aren’t too far apart in size either. The 6’4″, 80″ wingspan Hill has a one-inch height and reach advantage over Prochazka.

As with almost all fights, Prochazka-Hill will probably come down to stylistic matchups. The Czech former champion likes to fight coming forward, relentlessly pursuing his opponents, and looking for openings to land big shots. But this may actually work against Prochazka at UFC 311. Hill is an excellent fighter going backward and has the power to end the fight with one stiff strike.

Maybe the Czech will have a different game plan for the Hill fight. But Prochazka is known to abandon gameplans in the heat of battle. This is why we see Hill winning the fight, most probably via a decision. Although Hill could well end the fight within the three rounds. After all, ‘The Czech Samurai’ has a pretty solid chin, capable of withstanding a couple of good shots from Hill, and would probably make it to the final bell. Do you agree with our prediction for the Prochazka-Hill fight?
