Marlon Moraes and his MMA Career

The Brazilian-born mixed martial artist is a former bantamweight champion of the ‘World Series of Fighting.’ Moraes made his debut in the UFC against Raphael Assunção on June 3rd, 2017.

Despite starting his debut with a loss, Moraes defeated the then-rising prospect and now the current UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Ortega on December 9th, 2017.

He then became the first fighter to knock Jimmie Rivera out at UFC Fight Night 131. Earning himself the night’s performance bonus and breaking Rivera’s 20 fight win streak, Moraes began stirring up the pot.

Then Moraes redeemed himself from his UFC debut loss in a rematch against Assunção, which he won this time around, earning the performance of the night award at UFC Fight Night: Assunção vs. Moraes 2. Moreover, at UFC 245, he defeated Jose Aldo via a split decision.

As of March 2022, Moraes has a professional MMA record of 23-10-1 (10 T/KO & 6 Submissions). There is no doubt he has had an illustrious career so far.
