UFC bantamweight Rob Font has been cleared of any wrongdoings by the Nevada State Athletic Commission recently. Font tested positive for some metabolite substances in his urine sample for his recent win against Cody Garbrandt. While USADA has previously cleared him, NSAC has provided the bantamweight fighter with green light as well.

The Commission has also informed that they are looking to up the metabolite threshold for future cases. They don’t want to get a fighter’s reputation tainted with this sensitive issue. Hence a decision is made to increase the allowed limit.

USADA previously confirmed that cosmetic products were to blame for Font’s positive test beforehand. Font fought former UFC bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt in May and earned a dominant decision win in his favor. It was kind of a coming-out party for the fast-handed bantamweight contender who has established himself as a top-of-the-food-chain 135-pounder.

What’s next for Rob Font inside the Octagon?

Font is currently on a 4-fight winning streak with his win over Garbrandt. His last loss in the UFC was against Raphael Assuncao in 2018. Since then he has beaten the likes of Sergio Pettis, Ricky Simon, Marlon Moraes, and Garbrandt. His last two performances were a true measure of his immense potential. After a finish over Moraes, Font completely dominated Garbrandt in his last fight.

The Boston native can expect to face a top 3 fighter in his next fight. A fight against TJ Dillashaw might be something that makes the most sense for him. However, the former champion is looking to face the winner of Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan 2 in his next fight.

Cory Sandhagen might be another intriguing match-up for Font. The likes of Jose Aldo and other top contenders will be great contests as well. It will be interesting to see who the UFC chooses to match up Font with. Needless to mention, he is one of the most important pieces of the bantamweight puzzle.
