UFC Champion Israel Adesanya Explains His Refusal to Get In the Boxing Ring: “Jake Paul’s No Joke”

Israel Adesanya is a true lover of the fight game. It is one thing to be able to fight, and another thing to love every aspect of it. This refers to both intellectual and physical. He regularly makes statements regarding the fighting styles of various fighters and draws parallels to his fighting style along the way.

Apart from just fighting, Adesanya has immense love for the aspect of performance during and leading up to the fight event. Regarding performances in the fight game, Jake Paul is one of the most controversial, albeit high-selling boxers on the planet.

In a recent episode of ‘Ignore the Noise,’ ‘The Last Stylebender’ spoke about various topics ranging from his life to his profession. When asked about Jake Paul, the UFC middleweight champion said, “Would I fight Jake Paul? I don’t box… Jake Paul’s no joke, man.”

“So when he fought um Nate Robinson, I was there, I commented in a fight right… for me to come into that fight, I had to study what he did from Disney, and that’s what kind of made me know, like okay this is what this kid’s history is.”

“But then, being at his house, talking to him, we talked for a long time, and then I kind of realized, man, this guy, he’s crazy, and guess what? Those are the ones that get it done.”

He further added, “He was serious about boxing, yeah like because people just like oh he’s just doing this for fun, he’s just doing this to try and make money or get, you know, clout whatever… and he’s got all the funds all the access to be able to get it done.

There’s a good reason why Jake Paul is called ‘The Problem Child‘. He projects a version of himself that gains the most traction in terms of media notoriety. This refers to both positive and negative publicity. Although not wholly negative, he gives off a troublemaker vibe of a child looking for trouble fueled by media talk.

Despite making rivals throughout the industry, Paul has proved periodically that he has an unwavering respect for specific individuals. One of those individuals is Israel Adesanya.
