The fifth edition of the annual Variety 500 has recently surfaced. This list features the top 500 influential business leaders that have a key role in changing the global media world. Besides the Variety editorial board, significant research goes behind in preparing this list.

The list showcases the biggest names from various countries that have made an impactful presence in the media world. People such as Adam Mosseri (Head of Instagram), Anya Taylor-Joy (Actor), and Haruhiro Tsujimoto (President of Capcom) are a few of the names on this grand list.

One name that made the cut is comedian, UFC color commentator, and the biggest personality in the podcast world, Joe Rogan. Joe has signed a $100 million Spotify deal in 2020 for his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience”. This enormous money move has generated a lot of eyeballs on him, giving him considerable influential power.

According to Variety, “The Joe Rogan Experience” also held the title of No.1 podcast in the world.

Joe Rogan is one of the most prominent names in the UFC

Joe Rogan began his career in UFC as a backstage and post-fight interviewer. He first appeared at UFC 12. However, Joe quit his position after just 2 years in the business. In 2001, Zuffa LLC took over UFC and made Dana White the president.

Joe Rogan became friends with Dana, which led to him getting the gig of the color commentator. For his outstanding commentary and performance, World MMA awards presented him with MMA Personality of the Year 8 times.

“The Joe Rogan Experience”

Alongside his other ventures, one that stands out the most is his podcast. Joe Rogan and his comedian friend Brian Redban created the free podcast in December 2009. Since then, the small weekly broadcast has grown on an exponential level.

Powerful interviews with guests such as Elon Musk and Alex Jones really showed Joe Rogan’s influence over any culture. With so many achievements under his name, the 54-year-old doesn’t show any signs of stopping his legacy.
