There are many top performers in various sports that remain under-appreciated and never get the push they deserve. Jorge Masvidal believes that in the UFC, he is that fighter. The veteran has a professional MMA record of (35-14) and is very popular amongst the fans.

‘Gamebred’ holds the record for the quickest KO in UFC history, The fighter is also the UFC ‘BMF’ champion and holds victories over various notable opponents. Even though the fighter has been a constantly excellent performer for the UFC, he believes he did not get his dues from the company.

During a recent interview, Masvidal talked about the same. UFC didn’t blow me up, it was the people; it was the fans; it was the repulse.”

Masvidal is clear about the fact that it was his fans that supported him and made him into the star he is today.

“It was the actions of the regular people, the regular Joe’s that was like man I love this motherf****r, watching him forever. Look, hey, check this out, that’s what caught the wall on fire. That’s why I’m so thankful for the fans. Especially in my shoes, I have fans that are literally day one fans. I just want to tell them, thank you.” 

What next for Jorge Masvidal?

Masvidal last competed in the UFC back in 2020. The ‘BMF’ of UFC competed against Kamaru Usman and lost the fight via unanimous decision. The fight came together on short- notice as Usman vs initially supposed to fight Gilbert Burns, but the latter tested Covid positive, Masvidal served as the replacement fighter.

Now, after almost a year, the fighters are all set to have a rematch at the UFC 261 main event. This time around the fight is pre-planned, hence both fighters will get enough time to prepare for the match. ‘Gamebred’ and ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ are both excited for the fans and have already started their banter outside the Octagon.

Masvidal is a UFC veteran and always puts up a great show. Fans and critics alike know that whenever Masvidal fights, he will give them value for their money.
