UFC Fans Doubt Bo Nickal’s Readiness for Khamzat Chimaev Fight After Middleweight Prospect Talks Tough

Bo Nickal is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC. A mixed martial artist with roots in amateur wrestling, ‘The Allen Assassin’ is on a 3-fight winning streak in MMA, two of which he fought from Dana White‘s Contender Series. ‘The Schmo’ recently interviewed the middleweight fighter and asked about his opinion on Khamzat Chimaev moving up the weight class.
Bo Nickal will make his UFC debut on March 4. He will be fighting fellow Contender Series fighter, Jamie Pickett, at UFC 285. Many have compared his style of fighting to that of Khamzat Chimaev. He recently addressed those comparisons to ‘The Schmo’.

‘The Schmo’ asked Nickal about the comparisons with Khamzat Chimaev and his entry into the middleweight division. The Contender Series fighter said, “That’s exciting, you know. I think that him [Chimaev] coming up to 185 is awesome, you know.” Nickal added, “I want to have as many tough guys in my weight (class) as possible and make sure I am beating the best guys.”

Bo Nickal also mentioned that he just doesn’t aim to be the UFC champion, but also has his eye on the P4P title. He added, “For me, the goal is- to be UFC champ. More than that, I want to be the pound-for-pound number 1 fighter in the world. To do that, I got to beat the best guys.” However, there were many UFC fans who offered their opinion on this matter.

Many fans felt like the time wasn’t right for any kind of comparison between Bo Nickal and Khamzat Chimaev since he hasn’t yet fought in the UFC. They also claim that ‘Borz’ would easily defeat him. There were always jibes at ‘The Allen Assassin’s size as a middleweight. Fans want Nickal to grow bigger before challenging Chimaev.

Bo Nickal previously faced a lot of backlashes after claiming to beat two of the biggest middleweights in UFC, Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya.
Khamzat Chimaev is known for his ability to overpower his opponents inside the octagon. However, Bo Nickal has shown tremendous takedown abilities in the Contender Series fights. There is a possibility that both fights will come to blows in the future. But Nickal has to prove himself before he gets to the Swedish fighter.
