A recent replacement made by the UFC for an upcoming event this weekend has agitated the UFC fans. Several fans took to social media to express their disgust over the sudden change. The former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm would have clashed against Norma Dumont inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on 16th October. However, Holm had to withdraw from the fight because of a knee injury.
UFC brought in the new bantamweight prospect Aspen Ladd as a replacement for Holly Holm. However, this replacement didn’t sit well with the fans. Many took to Twitter to express their disgust over this change.
As ESPM MMA broke out the news on their official page, several people shared their views in the comment section. Some fans even called it the worst main event fight ever.

I like Aspen, but why is she the replacement? She almost collapsed last week… Why not have Macy Chiasson?…

Another fan took a dig at Ladd and said, “I like Aspen, but why is she the replacement? She almost collapsed last week… Why not have Macy Chiasson?” The reason behind the hate is an incident in her previous bout.
Aspen Ladd was scheduled to take on Macy Chiasson in a bantamweight bout at the UFC Fight Night event. However, the fight didn’t happen as Ladd failed to make the weight. She weighed in at 137lbs, which was one pound over the bantamweight non-title limit.

During her next weigh-in attempt, the 26-year-old fighter was stumbling on the scale and couldn’t raise her hands. It seemed as if the fighter was struggling with the brutal weight cut. However, many people didn’t buy this reason and accused Ladd of foul play during the weigh-ins. One former UFC women’s champion was one of them.

Following her weight-cut incident, the 9-1 record holder Aspen Ladd took to social media to address the fans about the incident.
However, the former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate didn’t buy Ladd’s claims. She took to Twitter to share her view on the scenario.

While taking a dig at the new bantamweight prospect, Tate said, “It’s one thing to miss weight, it’s another thing to try and cheat the scale and use every excuse in the book to not weigh in properly. Everyone saw you cheat and still came in a lb over. I bet you were every bit of 139.”
