A controversial Dana White video that NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal posted on his official Instagram account garnered a lot of backlash from fans. What was so displeasing about the video?

Luxury. Yes, the UFC President, who was in Texas for UFC 277, reportedly stayed at Houston’s The Post Oak Hotel, i.e. one of the most luxurious hotels. He provided a tour of his expensive Ambassador Suite, which costs over $12,000 per night, in a video posted to the hotfreestyle Instagram account.
Personal gym, basketball court, steam room, entertainment room, small golf course, the suite had everything a person could ask for. NBA great Shaquille O’Neal later shared the footage on his Instagram story.

This display was met with some backlash as followers used the opportunity to lash out at the UFC President about UFC fighters’ salaries.
“House is built out of the hopes and dreams of fighters who thought they made it lol,” a fan wrote.
Another fan wrote, “You can afford that but not to pay fighters lol.”
“What he paid for a day is probably more than what a fighter makes on a fight day.”
A fan wrote, “Dana eats, and his fighters swallow.”
“Ahhh spending money on suites instead of your fighters.”
“Meanwhile, his main event fighter staying at a two-star motel with roaches.”
Dana White has received criticism for fighters’ pay in the past
This is not the first time the UFC supremo has faced backlash for the fighters’ pay issue. In his two-decade-long journey in the UFC, White played a major role in the company’s success because of his out-of-the-box strategies. However, he has been called out several times for paying the fighters less.

The UFC President has even had issues with names like Jorge Masvidal and Jon Jones regarding this issue. YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul was one of the other individuals to take up the issue of fighter pay with White.

The Ohio native even made a diss track for the UFC head honcho, but the millionaire fight promoter, who believes fighters are just paid enough, has remained unfazed.
