An athlete’s decision to retire can be hard on fans. This was seen when ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov retired after facing Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Now, Zabit Magomedsharipov has announced his retirement.
The featherweight fighter, who last fought in 2019, remains undefeated in the UFC and lost just one bout in his professional MMA career. As reported by ‘MMA Fighting‘, the Russian notified the promotion of his decision to retire. Hence, he walks away with a record of 18-1.

This comes as sad news for many fans as people saw Magomedsharipov as someone who could become a champion. Thus, social media users reacted to the news and had several things to say.

Many fans have been speculating about the reason behind 31-year-old Magomedsharipov’s retirement. As reported by ‘Low Kick MMA‘, in an Instagram post, the athlete was seen seated under ‘Doctors of the World’ logo. In the caption, he had reportedly written, “the medical world of Makhachkala will soon have a new name.”
