Carli Judice recently scored a massive victory over previously undefeated fighter Jeisla Chaves at UFC Sacramento via a brutal first-round knockout. The commanding victory felt incredibly special for the Louisiana native because it happened during the promotion’s highly anticipated return to the city after a seven-year absence. That spectacular finish ultimately allowed her to rewrite the promotion’s striking history.

According to the UFC Record Book, the 27-year-old is now the record holder for the most significant strikes landed per minute. Following her latest fight, the website shows Judice sitting at the top of the list with 8.7 SLpM, surpassing flyweight champion Joshua Van, who now sits in second place with 8.43. She is also well ahead of heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who sits in fifth place with 7.63.

UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney currently holds the third overall position, landing 7.95 significant strikes per minute. Right below him is UFC women’s flyweight contender Casey O’Neill, who sits in fourth place with a 7.89 SLpM average. Outperforming these renowned veterans represents a massive career achievement for the young prospect. She accomplished this statistical milestone incredibly early in her promotional tenure.

The standout female flyweight debuted in the UFC just two years ago, initially stumbling with a loss against Gabriella Fernandes. She rapidly rebounded to destroy her next four opponents, including the recent knockout of Chaves, with three of those four victories coming via brutal finishes to push her overall UFC record to 4-1. Her relatively short promotional tenure heavily contrasts with the extensive resumes of the champions she just surpassed.

Van debuted in the UFC three years ago and has since competed in 11 fights, compiling an impressive 10-1 promotional record. Aspinall had his inaugural fight under Dana White’s promotion back in 2020 and has competed nine times, building an 8-1 record inside the Octagon. Both champions possess a considerably larger portfolio of fights than Judice, meaning her average could easily fluctuate as she logs more cage time. She fully intends to test that striking volume against the absolute best fighters in her weight class.

Carli Judice targets top 15 UFC flyweights after making a statement in Sacramento 

The intrigue surrounding the UFC women’s flyweight division has been flying a little under the radar lately. Though the division is stacked at the top, with Valentina Shevchenko having contenders like Natalia Silva, Erin Blanchfield, Wang Cong, and Alexa Grasso eyeing a clash against the champion, the lower half has been relatively cold, with not many fighters generating intrigue among the audience.

Carli Judice’s magnificent finish over her opponent last night could very well help fill that gap. The Louisiana native understands that, and she has now called out the top 15 for her next fight.

“This is a freaking dream,” Judice said in her Octagon interview with Michael Bisping. “It couldn’t have gone any better. … I want top 15 next. Give me a shot at that. I want to fight more.”  

Since she has asked to fight more often, it won’t be surprising if Dana White and the matchmakers quickly figure out who she is going to face next. But what could be the best matchup for Judice? Well, there are a couple of names from the top 15 that make total sense for her. Karine Silva, JJ Aldrich, and Miranda Maverick could prove to be the perfect gateway for Judice to break into the flyweight rankings. From there, she can challenge the top 10 and gradually prepare herself for a potential title shot. 

That said, with Carli Judice finally making a name for herself, it would be interesting to see whether she can actually maintain her spot in the UFC record books and whether the promotion gives her a ranked opponent next.
