UFC Fight Night: Jung vs Ige will see a fight in the women’s strawweight division go down between Kanako Murata and Virna Jandiroba. Both fighters will look to get a win in this clash of contenders in the 115 lbs division.

Murata will make her second appearance inside the UFC Octagon this weekend. The 27-year-old Japanese mixed martial artist defeated Randa Markos in her promotional debut back in November 2020. The former Invicta FC and Rizin FF fighter will look to build on that impressive start with another win over Jandiroba this weekend.

As for Jandiroba, this will be a fifth appearance under the UFC banner for the former Invicta FC fighter. The 33-year-old Brazilian lost her last fight to Mackenzie Dern at UFC 256 by decision. Another decision loss to Carla Esparza in her promotional debut equals her winning tally of 2 against the likes of Mallory Martin and Felice Herrig. ‘Carcara’ won both fights by submission.

Murata has a professional record of 12-1. She has 6 finishes ( 2 T/KO and 4 submissions) under her belt; The Brazilian, Jandiroba, has a record of 16-2. She has a massive 13 finishes by submission in her career so far.

Kanako Murata vs Virna Jandiroba: Anlysis

Jandiroba is an exceptional submission artist. Also, she is a superb stand-up fighter as well. Though she was on the wrong end of a unanimous decision, the loss against Dern was quite close. Given Dern’s run at 115, Jandiroba’s performance speaks volumes.

Murata has lost once in her career. And that was via submission to an opponent with a good submission game. This statistic will light up Jandiroba’s eyes as she can submit anybody.

Jandiroba is better than Murata in the grappling department and she should be able to hold her own when they exchange in those situations. ‘Carcara’ might just be able to grind out a decision in her favor after a close fight. However, she might submit Murata in the later rounds as well.
