UFC Fight Night: Ladd vs Dumont- Manon Fiorot vs Mayra Bueno Silva: Prediction and Analysis

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is back in action with the new UFC Fight Night event. UFC Vegas 40 will take place later tonight inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A featherweight bout between Aspen Ladd and Norma Dumont will headline the event.

Apart from this fight, there are few other fights that might garner a lot of attention from the fight fans. One of them is the women’s flyweight bout that will feature on the main card.

The French female fighter Manon ‘The Beast’ Fiorot will take on the Brazilian women’s fighter Mayra Bueno ‘Sheetara’ Silva inside the octagon in a three-round gruesome scrap. Both the women’s fighters are yet to be ranked in the flyweight division of UFC.

‘The Beast’, is a new female prospect in the promotion and has won both her bouts since her debut. She will look to continue her winning streak against the Brazilian. On the other hand, ‘Sheetara’ won her last fight in 2020 and faced a draw in her recent bout in February earlier this year. Considering this, she might also look for ways to keep her in the win column.

Manon Fiorot vs Mayra Bueno Silva: The Flyweight Scuffle

‘Sheetara’ made her UFC debut in 2018. He has a professional fighting record of7-1 and six of her wins via a finish, three of which are in the UFC. She is a submission expert with five submission wins in her resume.

Meanwhile, ‘The Beast’ made her UFC debut in 2021 and is currently undefeated. Akin to her opponent, the French woman’s female has a 7-1 professional fighting record under her name. She has an impressive six knockout wins on her resume and has finished all her opponents in the UFC.

Coming into the fight, Fiorot has a one-inch height advantage over Silva. While that latter has a one-inch reach advantage over the French fighter. It is going to be a close fight as both the women’s fighters have impressive striking skills. ‘Sheetara’ has a good ground game, given her 57% submission finish rate.

However, it won’t be a walk in the park to face the 31-year-old as she is a defensive fighter with 100% takedown defense. Even though ‘Sheetara’ lands 4.09  and absorbs 4.89 strikes per minute, the 8.00 strikes landed by the French fighter per minute are a huge cause for concern.

This fight might surely go to distance as both the fighters will look for a finish. However, ‘The Beast’ will have her moment and might finish early, given her previous records in the promotion.
