Leavitt, now 2-0 in the UFC, would go on to face Claudio Puelles for his third fight. Unfortunately, this is where his winning streak would come to and an end as Leavitt lost the bot via unanimous decision.
Sayles too made his presence in the UFC felt, after a massive win on the contender series. Sayles went up against a very unorthodox striker in Yazan Hajeh for his first fight. Undeterred by Hajeh’s kicks, Sayles powered through, landing straight right late in round one to end the fight.
However, that would be the peak of his career so far in the UFC, since he would go lose his next 2 out of 3 fights. Encountering Sheymon Moraes n his debut ended up being detrimental to Sayles, as he would lose a decision to him. Bouncing back, Sayles beat Kyle Nelson via submission in the third round of his second fight in the UFC, only to meet Bruce Mitchell in the third fight. Mitchel submitted Sayles in iconic fashion via twister.

Both fighters are coming off a loss in their last performances in the UFC. which means both these individuals are desperate to get a win. This fight, however, is a classic MMA clash of styles between a striker and grappler.

Sayles is a very sharp striker with excellent kickboxing skills. He throws his shots straight down the barrel and lands with a lot of power. Sayles is a very calm and composed fighter and is very rarely overwhelmed.
However, he has been taken down in the past and his takedown defense isn’t foolproof. If Leavitt can avoid a long-drawn-out battle on the feet, chances are he can take Sayles down and finish the fight.
