UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs Waterson will see an important welterweight clash go down on the main card. Geoff Neal will fight against Neil Magny in a clash of ranked contenders. Both fighters, who suffered defeats in their last contests, will be determined to get back into title contention.

‘The Haitian Sensation’ last fought Michael Chiesa in January at UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. Magny lost a lopsided decision that ended his three-fight winning streak in the UFC’s welterweight division. The 33-year-old fighter currently possesses a professional of 24-8. He has 10 finishes (7 T/KO and 3 submissions) under his belt.

Magny, who is a true UFC veteran, has been fighting in the promotion since 2013. He has had a massive 24 fights in the organization picking up 17 wins in the process.

‘Handz Of Steel’ suffered his first loss in the UFC against Stephen Thompson in the last fight card of 2020. However, his toughness was on full display as he absorbed all the offerings from ‘Wonderboy’. In fact, Kevin Holland is the only fighter to ever knock him out in his career. That loss came during Neal’s pre-UFC career.

The former Dana White’s Contender Series alumni will make his seventh appearance inside the Octagon against Magny. He has won 6 of those fights. His professional record stands at 13-3 with 10 (8 T/KO and 2 submissions) of those wins coming by finishes.

Neil Magny vs Geoff Neal: Analysis

Magny is a tough fighter. But Neal is a master of striking, whose knockout prowess is something to watch out for. After the defeat in his last outing, ‘Handz of Steel’ will come into the fight against Magny with an added vengeance. However, ‘The Haitian Sensation’ is no pushover.

So, if he can withstand Neal’s offerings, ‘Handz of Steel‘ might have to grind out a decision. There are ways Magny can get a decision win too. But given Neal’s youth and hunger to establish himself as a cream of the crop contender, he might just prove to be too much for ‘The Haitian Sensation‘ to handle.
