UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Spann will see a clash between Erin Blanchfield and Sarah Alpar go down in the women’s flyweight division in the preliminary card of the event. Both ladies are relatively new in their UFC careers. Either fighter will be determined to make a mark with an impressive win this weekend.

The former Invicta FC fighter, Blanchfield is set to make her UFC debut this weekend. She trains out of the Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy. The 22-year-old has fought UFC fighters like Kay Hanses and Tracy Cortez in her career already. Judging by her performance in those fights, Blanchfield should be able to establish herself as a budding prospect in the flyweight division of the UFC.

Erin Blanchfield vs Sarah Alpar: Analysis

Blanchfield has a very solid jiu-jitsu game. Also, her ground control is formidable as well. Those might come in handy in this fight for the 22-year-old prospect. Also, despite being a jiu-jitsu specialist, Blanchfield has managed to get a few finishes while standing up as well. She has put opponents to sleep via head kick. Alpar hasn’t been too impressive in her only fight in the UFC as well. So, Blanchfield might just be able to exploit those holes and control Alpar on the ground eventually forcing her to give up a bad position. Blanchfield should eventually be able to secure a submission win on her UFC debut.
