Gina Amir, Michel Pereira’s wife, finally addressed the call-out controversy between her husband and the former welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal.

It all started with the call-out made on the UFC Fight Night last Saturday. The surging welterweight contender Michael Pereira secured a decision victory in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 55 last weekend.

Later, in the post-fight interview, ‘Demolidor’ accused the BMF titleholder Jorge Masvidal of texting his wife. However, ‘Gamebred’ cleared the air by posting a screenshot from the chat.

In the screenshot uploaded by Masvidal, it was clearly visible that Michel Pereira’s wife texted the Floridian, and the latter replied with a folded hand emoji. Masvidal also took a jibe at Pereira for using his wife to get a fight.

However, now Michel Pereira’s wife Gina Amir has herself addressed the controversy. She released a statement on her Instagram account, which was posted by MMA Fighting on Twitter.

Amir wrote, “Society is always looking for excitement, and unfortunately, drama sells. Twisting the narrative to create a story that is false. I have never, and would never, do anything to disrespect my marriage or my husband.”

Is Jorge Masvidal vs. Michel Pereira a fight to make

‘Gamebred’ is currently running on a three-fight skid in the promotion. Meanwhile, ‘Demolidor’ is currently undefeated in his previous five fights. However, Masvidal is still at the number eight position on the 170lbs roster.

On the other hand, ‘Demolidor’ has just entered the top-15 and stands number 14 after his last victory. And what is better than fighting a top-ranked fighter to Fastrack the title journey?

Hence, this is a good fight for Pereira. Meanwhile, Masvidal is also looking to map his way to the title. However, he still has no partner to dance with inside the cage. Hence, ‘Demolidor’ can fill this void. Also, the recent exchange between them can bring more heat to the fight.
