Johnny Walker went up against Magomed Ankalaev for a second time just to get knocked out in the second round. The two had fought previously at the infamous pay-per-view, UFC 294. Many things went wrong for this day as both, the main and the co-main event had pullouts. On top of that, Walker’s fight got called off too.

That’s right, Johnny Walker was deemed too unfit to keep fighting after suffering a major blow to the head. However, in their second meeting at UFC Vegas 84, Walker had a chance to settle the score once and for all. Unfortunately, he ended up with a broken nose.

How fast is too fast for Johnny Walker?

In the second round of their bout, Johnny Walker was hit with a brilliant punch by Ankalaev. He quickly followed it up with yet another precise strike right to Walker’s nose as the fighter toppled and fell on the mat. The referee was quick to call the finish.

Walker would soon report a very broken nose that perhaps many could see get injured right away. Right as Ankalaev lifted his hand for his last punch, Walker squeezed his hand against his nose as if trying to gauge the extent of the damage. Now, he’s given fans a health update.

Here, he showed his recovery over a week going from rather bruised to finally the marks starting to fade away completely.

The fighter certainly tried putting up an impressive show with his last fight but it didn’t quite go his way. The first time around, he was found bewildered by the doctor and reportedly said that he was in the “desert” when asked where he was after an illegal knee hit by Ankalaev left him dazed at UFC 294. Ankalaev wants the belt next

Magomed Ankalaev was criticized by many for his illegal knee that brought his UFC 294 bout against Johnny Walker to a no-contest. Now, he’s proven his mettle by actually knocking Walker out. He was quick to let everyone know that he was always ready to win this fight and now that he has done it in grand fashion, perhaps there is a belt to be won.

“This is not what is important, though,” he said in the post-fight interview, and added, “The most important thing is that I’m ready for the title. Give me the title fight now.” Currently, the light heavyweight title sits atop the shoulder of ‘Poatan‘. And Alex Pereira is not about to let it go anytime soon.

A title bout for him would mean his first title defense at LHW and so far, Dana White hasn’t announced anything for him. Will we see Alex Pereira or Johnny Walker again at UFC 300?
