Joe Rogan is more than just a commentator at the UFC; he is also the host of the worldwide appreciated podcast show, The Joe Rogan Experience. He is a stand-up comedian and is also a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. Rogan has made an invaluable contribution in helping the UFC reach where it is today throughout the 28 years he has spent with the organization. On the other hand, Rogan’s friendship with Dana White has stood the test of time. In these 28 years, the duo has been through so much that Rogan and White decided to add a rather shocking clause to Joe’s contract.

“If Dana White quits, then I might quit. It’s actually my contract, if he leaves, then I leave…” Rogan revealed a clause in his contract that says if White leaves the company, Rogan will leave too. This shows the trust and love that White and Rogan have for each other.  The duo has been together for quite some time now, witnessing the highest and the lowest points of the company, and now, where the UFC is today, in the midst of a global expansion.

“I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for him. He’s my friend. He talked me into doing it.” Rogan explained the reason behind his clause, although unexpected, this clause stands as an example of their long-term friendship and, more importantly, a pillar that carries the UFC.

While Joe Rogan and UFC CEO and President Dana White’s friendship is a well appreciated aspect of the UFC, it is also something that doesn’t sit right with the MMA community. While grateful for what he’s done for the sport, it seems as if the fans are quite possibly done with Rogan. Let’s read further to find out what the fans had to say.

“And so he should.”- Fans leave angry comments on Joe Rogan’s retirement news

As fans got to know about this revelation of Joe Rogan’s contract, their reactions weren’t those filled with glee, but anger towards a commentator who many believe has lost his touch and should leave commentary for good. One such fan said: “That’s ok. It’ll get better” while another said: ” Please Joe, leave.” as another angry fan joined them saying: “Two f’n mental cases.” Reactions from fans coming out of months of witnessing stagnant comments from the standup-comedian, a possible danger to the UFC’s product.

Fortunately, not everyone was so angry, as a few hilarious fans commented: “More proof they’re the same person.” while another said: “Literally the same person.” A rather hysterical conspiracy that both Rogan and White are the same person, which is why they’ll leave together. Such comments can really leave you laughing and thinking about the humor of the MMA community! But emotions put aside, many were concerned for the future of the organization. As one fan chimed in saying: ” UFC is done when Dana, Rogan, and Bruce Buffer all retire,” as a fellow fan joined him and commented, “Hoping Dana leaves soon, then if it spares us from his commentary on top of it.” Harsh. Indeed, it seems the fans cannot bear Rogan’s commentary anymore.

While Joe Rogan has confirmed he will stay with the UFC as long as Dana White is here, it is bad news to swallow for the fans who believe the popular podcast host has lost his touch in his commentary. With a reputation that took almost three decades to make at stake, Rogan really has to look for a way to elevate himself yet again as he always had. And with the fans with a keen eye on the commentator, it will be a great time for Joe Rogan to up his game. What do you think will be Rogan’s next big move? Let us know in the comments.
