The former UFC two-weight champion is back to training after recovering from a gruesome injury he faced in his last fight. And although he was competing in the lightweight division, ‘The Notorious’ wants a title fight against the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in his comeback now.
Meanwhile, to help McGregor prepare for his comeback fight, the rising welterweight prospect Khamzat Chimaev chimed in to train the former champion. Pointing to this, a user on Twitter asked Sonnen if the Irishman should swallow his pride and consider training with Chimaev to grow his skills.
Nobody has more skill than Connor. At this level nobody is working skill. You train purely for conditioning. If you are still learning to fight, you aren’t here. https://t.co/HGWlSVBfF1

While responding to the user’s question, Sonnen stated McGregor is one of the most skilled fighters in the promotion. And at the level at which the Irishman is, there’s no one working on their skills, it is just conditioning.

Will Conor McGregor get a title fight against Kamaru Usman
Ever since his debut in UFC, Conor McGregor has been a good prospect for the company. The Irishman is a global star. And most of his fights have sold the highest pay-per-views in the history of the sport. Hence, his bouts are financially beneficial for the company.

Therefore, even though the former two-division champion has won only one fight out of his last four, he has a better chance of getting the title shot on his return. Also, in the past, ‘The Notorious’ has jumped the line to fight for the belt in 2018.
