Henry Cejudo, the former UFC two-division champion, took a nasty dig at the current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling amidst Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars fiasco.

Famous Hollywood actor Will Smith is currently a hot topic on the internet. However, it isn’t for a good reason. Minutes before winning the best actor award at the 94th Academy awards show, Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock for his comments on the former’s wife.

While referring to this incident, the Olympic gold medalist Cejudo aimed at Sterling on Twitter. He wrote, “Before I got to sleep, I can’t stop and think if @funkmasterMMA was Chris Rock, how many rolls would he have done after getting slapped?”

Apparently, the former double champion was pointing at Sterling’s win against the former champion Petr Yan. In 2021, at UFC 259, ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Funk Master’ clashed against each other for Yan’s bantamweight title.

The Russian champion dominated most of the fight. However, in the fourth round, Yan landed an illegal knee to a downed Sterling’s head. Unfortunately, this move cost him his bantamweight gold, as Sterling won the fight via DQ.

Notably, many fans weren’t happy about the outcome, as they believed Yan was stripped of his title and Sterling exaggerated the situation a bit. However, both the men are now ready to settle the score after a long time.

After their controversial fight, both the bantamweight combatants Yan and Sterling were set for a rematch at UFC 267 on October 30, 2021. However, the fight didn’t happen as ‘Funk Master’ pulled out of the bout because of an injury.

However, the rematch is now all set to take place. It will serve as the co-main event at UFC 273 on 9th April 2022. An intriguing featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and ‘The Korean Zombie‘ will headline the event.
