Israel Adesanya’s arrest grabs Jake Shields’s attention

Addressing the recent arrest of Israel Adesanya on Wednesday at JFK airport, Jake Shields took a jab at NYC authorities on Twitter.

Shields wrote,NYC has been ignoring serious crimes such as armed robbery and then arrest Izzy over brace knuckles”. The former UFC star seemed to be irked over Adesanya’s arrest, suggesting how serious crimes are being ignored in NYC.

In the following tweet, Shields also mentioned how the system seems to target a certain group of people.

He wrote, “Many of these cities are allowing sc*m-bag career criminals to do as they please while charging people who contribute to society over small crimes.” Jake Shields didn’t mince words while stating his argument.

On Wednesday, Israel Adesanya was on his way home when the Port Police Authority arrested the fighter over a misdemeanor offense of possession of a weapon. The airport security stopped Adesanya for carrying brass knuckles in his luggage.

However, Adesanya’s manager, Tim Simpson, gave his statement to TMZ, “Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage.” In addition, Simpson stated that the incident was quickly resolved after the brief detention.

Tim Simpson added, “When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item, and co-operated with authorities. He has complied accordingly with that the matter was dismissed and he is on his way home.”

Even though the arrest was brief and over a minor security concern, it didn’t sit well with Jake Shields. He was displeased by the course of action against Israel Adesanya and called out NYC authorities on Twitter.
