Israel Adesanya carrying a weapon and the aftermath of his arrest
On Wednesday, Israel Adesanya was on his way home when the Port Police Authority arrested the fighter over a misdemeanor offense of possession of a weapon. The airport security stopped Adesanya for carrying brass knuckles in his luggage.
However, Adesanya’s manager, Tim Simpson, gave his statement to TMZ, “Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage.” In addition, Simpson stated that the incident was quickly resolved after the brief detention.

Tim Simpson added, “When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item, and co-operated with authorities. He has complied accordingly with that the matter was dismissed and he is on his way home.”

Even though the arrest was brief and over a minor security concern, it didn’t sit well with Jake Shields. He was displeased by the course of action against Israel Adesanya and called out NYC authorities on Twitter.
