Conor McGregor has been out of the fighting game for a while. He has been out since UFC 264 in July 2021. McGregor’s comeback is highly anticipated. Fans have been waiting for him to come back and light up the Octagon. Three-time Bellator lightweight champion and UFC fighter Michael Chandler has now asked for a fight with Conor McGregor.

Chandler is currently the #5 in the UFC lightweight rankings. Michael Chandler will face Dustin Poirier next at UFC 281. He defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 in May earlier this year.

Before Chandler finalized his fight with ‘The Diamond’, he expressed his interest in meeting ‘The Notorious’ in the Octagon. He said, “I would challenge the injury-prone [notion],” Chandler said. “You never quite know. I think a lot of guys after the fact… but Conor was pretty good and pretty vocal about all the injuries that he had going into these fights.”

Conor McGregor has been out of the UFC circuit since Dustin Poirier defeated him. The horrible injury he suffered in that fight has kept him out of the fighting game.

Conor McGregor is someone who is highly regarded even by his opponents. Michael Chandler expressed his views saying “I think Conor has never pulled out of a fight, to my knowledge. But you’re also talking about a leg that got shattered about a year ago. So, we don’t know who Conor’s gonna be after that injury… but he loves the fight game. I think he wants to come back no matter what, and why shouldn’t it be me?”

McGregor will be sought once he becomes available for a fight. His fight has all the potential for a great pay-per-view fight. McGregor is one of the best fighters of all time in the UFC. His record and his meteoric rise as a fighter have been inspiring for a lot of fans.
