Kay Hansen signed with the UFC in 2020 and started her career with an armbar win over Jinh Yu Frey last June. She instantly drew comparisons with former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. But, she dropped her next bout in November, losing a unanimous decision to Cory McKenna.

The 21-year-0ld certainly has the promise to become a superstar in the future. However, she needs some time to mature physically and also mentally as her prime years as a fighter is yet to come. She recently announced a new management deal on her Twitter as she signed with Upgrade Marketing Group.

The company manages some of the biggest names on the UFC roster. These include Light-heavyweight contender Dominick Reyes and next featherweight title challenger Brian ‘T-City‘ Ortega. Hansen has certainly made the right choice to market herself in the near future.

The former Invicta FC fighter currently holds a professional record of 9-4. She has 4 wins by submission and 2 by KO/TKO. Her submission expertise is quite evident from her style of fighting as she certainly depends on her ground game accolades to overwhelm her opponents.

The promise is certainly there for Hansen to be a success in the UFC. However, she certainly needs more time to grow into her full potential.

Kay Hansen earned a very famous fan in her UFC debut

Hansen took her debut fight in the UFC on 6 days’ notice. She was reportedly at Starbucks while receiving a call from the promotion to fight Jinh Yu Frey. After her armbar win, she got a mention from Ronda Rousey on Twitter. ‘Rowdy’ saw shades of her own self in the new-comer.

She got a brutal cut over her eye during the fight. But the opportunity to take her place in the leading organization of MMA and earning praise from a legend on her first day out would have certainly made those pains irrelevant. The Californian is set to face Cheyanne Buys in her next outing in March.
