Fans are yet to witness Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards face off before their UFC 304 headliner, but the duo already seemed to have sized up against each other during an elevator run-in. ‘Remember the Name’ narrated what transpired when the two welterweights caught up, which apparently rubbed the fans on social media negatively, to say the least. Leon Edwards isn’t scared of Belal Muhammad, which was what he said in several past interviews. However, according to the title challenger’s recent account, it was the opposite.

Muhammad recently revealed that he had bumped into Rocky and his team in an elevator. Guess what? ‘Remember the Name’ claims that he could smell the fear in them. “I just saw him right now in the elevator, he looked like he was afraid. Him, his brother, and his coach, they all looked like cowards,” Belal Muhammad told ‘MMA Junkie’. He even took shots at Leon Edwards’s coach, Dave Lovell, mocking his English accent and labeling him as having a medical condition.

“Leon didn’t say a word, his coach was talking but he has just has a weird stupid accent and he sounds like he kind of has autism or he’s slow… They just look like a weird group of guys,” Muhammad added. But how do you think the fans reacted to these comments? Well, for the most part, they clapped back at ‘Remember the Name’.

Fans react to Belal Muhammad’s account of running into Leon Edwards

First of all, fans were filled with doubts, suspecting that Belal Muhammad may have gone a little overboard with his description of his run-in with Leon Edwards, prompting one Instagram to comment, “Press x for doubt.” Meanwhile, one fan just straight away called out the title challenger for his bogus claims. That fan added, “Me when I lie.” As we’ve mentioned earlier, Edwards has always claimed not to be scared of Muhammad and these fans may have reacted with those statements in mind.

Many fans tried to set the record straight for Belal Muhammad, dismissing his claims by recalling what happened when he last fought the reigning 175 lbs champion. “I think he forgot that Leon almost kicked his head off the last time they fought,” one fan stated. On the other hand, the fans also made it clear that he’s nowhere as intimidating and dangerous as Edwards’ previous opponents like ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Kamaru Usman. Hence, they don’t see any reason why Leon Edwards would be scared of him. The fan added, “Usman is more intimidating than you bro, a dominant champion. He beat him twice and flat lined him. Highly doubt he’s scared of you Belal!”

Over the course of the last few years, many fellow welterweights have claimed that Belal Muhammad isn’t as exciting as others are in the division, which has made one fan believe that the 36-year-old could be trying to spice things up with his recent comments. But they’re afraid that losing out this weekend after making such comments won’t look too good on him. While one fan stated, “i understand playing the heel because you’re boring but this isn’t the way to do it,” the other stated, “I hope belal is ready to eat all his words when he loses.” Nevertheless, some fans still hope that a “delusional” Muhammad could edge past Leon Edwards with a win. I’m usually for guys being delusional but Belal has been speaking a lot of nonsense. Hopefully for Belal, he actually wins.”
