UFC News: Conor McGregor Fight at Real Madrid’s Stadium Targeted by Ilia Topuria – “That’s the Fight That I Would Make…”

Ilia Topuria has revealed his intentions for a fight against ‘The Notorious’! ‘El Matador’ is set to clash with featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski at the upcoming UFC 298 event. The build-up to their fight has been marked with Topuria displaying supreme confidence in his ability to put an end to the Australian’s reign atop the 145 lbs. division.

But it’s not just Volkanovski who is in the crosshairs of Topuria; in a recent interview during a press conference, the Spanish fighter stated that he would be interested in taking on ‘The Notorious’. And he’s already got a location in mind for the proposed clash with the former ‘champ-champ’!

Ilia Topuria is on an undefeated streak in the UFC which has seen him go 6-0 in the promotion since making his debut in 2020. And during the build-up to the highly anticipated clash with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298, he has been vocal about wanting to take on Conor McGregor too!

During his appearance on the MMA Hour, Topuria had stated, “…. If he doesn’t get his a** whooped [by Michael Chandler], he will be a pleasure to share the octagon with…” Therefore, during a recent pre-fight press conference, Topuria was asked about his statements concerning a proposed fight at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, home of the famous Real Madrid football club.

When asked to reveal who he would like to fight at the venue, Topuria stated, “And I think I would put Conor McGregor, that’s the fight that I would make at the Santiago Bernabeu…”

Topuria’s bold statements, further highlight his ambition and confidence. As fight night approaches, fans eagerly anticipate whether Topuria can back up his words with actions and make a significant statement in the featherweight division that may lead to a clash with the Irish MMA icon!

Volkanovski makes a prediction for Topuria  

Ahead of UFC 298, Alexander Volkanovski is gearing up for a crucial featherweight title defense. Volkanovski, known as “The Great”, will be taking on the undefeated challenger, Ilia Topuria and he has stated that his opponent’s confidence has become a motivational factor for him in the upcoming clash.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, ‘Volk’ stated, “Do work, humble him, and show the world again — remind them and let him know that he’s still got a way’s to go until he’s up at the top. I’m gonna show him that.”

Volkanovski also revealed that he has a prediction for the fight as well, as he stated, “Prediction is I teach him a good lesson”
