Fans may have to wait some more for Conor McGregor to make his much-awaited return! The Irish MMA star has been away from the Octagon since 2021 when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He was set to return to the cage after the conclusion of the TUF 31 season last year against Michael Chandler. However, issues arose with McGregor’s availability for drug testing, leading to the bout being delayed.

But in a recent update, it has been revealed that McGregor has already completed 2 testing sessions this year. And according to UFC CEO Dana White, the date for his return is yet to be confirmed but efforts are being made to ensure it happens in 2024!

Conor McGregor’s 2024 anti-doping tests are in focus as Dana White recently discussed his fight plans with Michael Chandler! According to a post on X by Jed I. Goodman, “The new #UFC Anti-Doping Test History database has been updated. Fighters with 2 test sessions in 2024: Conor McGregor, Darrius Flowers, Dricus Du Plessis, Mayra Silva, Ramon Taveras, Sean Strickland & Taylor Laplius. 160 other fighters show 1 test session for this year.”

He stated on his recent appearance on The MMA Hour, “Conor McGregor, that’s the fight I’m looking for …. If he doesn’t get his a** whooped, he will be a pleasure to share the octagon with… Maybe in UFC Spain.”

Topuria also claimed that McGregor could be in for a “red panty” night if they meet in the octagon. The phrase, popularized by McGregor himself, refers to lucrative bouts that have the potential to propel fighters to a higher level of stardom and success. However, before fans can anticipate the McGregor-Topuria showdown, Topuria must secure victory against Volkanovski at UFC 298. With both fighters navigating their challenges, a clash between Topuria and McGregor remains a tantalizing prospect for the MMA fandom!
