UFC News: Dana White Almost Confirms Leon Edwards & Tom Aspinall’s Future for “Bada**” UK PPV

There are no plans for the British duo of UFC champions Tom Aspinall and Leon Edwards in 2024 so far. However, that can soon change after a revelation made by UFC CEO Dana White. The 54-year-old recently revealed during an interview that he has big plans involving the two British fighters for a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom.
There is a lot of diversity in the UFC when it comes to current champions. However, two British fighters, Tom Aspinall and Leon Edwards, have become kingpins in the heavyweight and welterweight divisions, respectively. As such, as the UFC plans to return to the UK, Aspinall and Edwards could be up for exciting matchups.

Dana White recently appeared in an exclusive interview with ‘TNT Sports‘. It was rather unusual on his part since he had mentioned earlier that he prefers podcast appearances to media interviews. Nevertheless, he got hit with questions surrounding plans to return to England, to which he replied by claiming he was aware that the British pair of Tom Aspinall and Leon Edwards needed a UK event. White said, “I have an English heavyweight champion and lots of other European stars but two champs now out of England.”

Dana White further mentioned that he and his team were looking at certain matchups and deciding when to set up those fights. However, the UFC CEO’s attention turned to a few fights that he wanted to set up for a PPV event in the UK. “We had those fights that we are going on [about] that were like, ‘Wait, we are going to do this where? No, we’re going to England,” the 54-year-old added. He also gave insight into when fans can expect the announcement of the PPV event. Let’s see what he had to say about that.
UK PPV announcement to come days before the event
The last UFC event in the UK took place in July 2023, in London and Dana White mentioned that he somewhat misses the UK. As such, he wants to surprise fans with some great matchups when they come back to the European nation.

When it came to the announcement of the event, Dana White mentioned that they were working on it. He also revealed that the official word for the PPV will be out just days before the event. “We’re coming and I got great fights lined up for the UK fans and I’m excited to get back there… I haven’t been to England for a minute,” The UFC CEO added.

The UFC has become a global phenomenon with global MMA superstars. While Dana White has confirmed plans for Tom Aspinall and Leon Edwards, he hasn’t done the same for Ilia Topuria‘s UFC event in Spain. We will have to wait and see how many more countries White’s promotion hosts future events and if the UFC event in Spain becomes a reality as well.
