Jamahal Hill is set to fight light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in the latter’s first title defense. He did not get the chance to lose the title when he was champion due to an injury, hence he is the frontrunner for a title shot. However, Magomed Ankalaev begs to differ as he issued a deadline to ‘Sweet Dreams’ surrounding his title shot.

Magomed Ankalaev has been on a roll ever since joining the UFC. He lost his first fight, but since then, the Russian has racked up a 10-fight winning streak. After beating Johnny Walker a couple of weeks ago, Ankalaev is now gunning for Alex Pereira’s title and has also sent a message to Jamahal Hill.

When Jamahal Hill learned about Magomed Ankalaev’s call for a title shot, he did not seem to understand the Russian’s logic. However, the 3rd-ranked light heavyweight fighter proceeded to explain what his logic was all about. According to Ankalaev, Hill is recovering from his injury.

Moreover, it could take time for the former champion to get back into fighting shape. Hence, if ‘Sweet Dreams’ can not get ready by May, this year, Ankalaev could start a conversation with UFC’s matchmaker Mick Maynard and set up a fight between him and Alex Pereira.

“My logic, you are injured and fat boy and if you’re not ready by may to fight the champion, I will get healthy Champ and After talk [with Mick Maynard] I will ready when you call,” said Magomed Ankalaev.

Given his record so far in the UFC, the Russian believes that he is the perfect contender to get a title shot should Jamahal Hill take too much time to come back. Nevertheless, ‘Sweet Dreams’ also had a few words to say regarding Ankalaev’s claim to the title. Let’s see what he had to say.

‘Sweet Dreams’ claims Ankalaev is not “entertaining”

Jamahal Hill posted a video on YouTube, where he assessed Magomed Ankalaev’s claim to a heavyweight title shot. The former champion took aim at the Russian ace, claiming that there is nothing in his movement that’s distinguishable from other fighters. As such, Hill doesn’t seem to care too much about what Ankalaev has to say. He stated, “Bro is not very bright. He doesn’t do bright things. Nothing about his movement or motion or anything he does seems bright at all, so I’m not really surprised that he has a not-so-bright take on this whole thing.”

‘Sweet Dreams’ also claimed that there was nothing entertaining about Magomed Ankalaev inside the Octagon. He even stated that people would never pay to see him fight. Instead, Jamahal Hill guaranteed that more people wanted to see him fight than Ankalaev. “You’re not entertaining. Nobody wants to watch you fight. Nobody’s rushing to pay for your pay-per-view. So whenever it comes down to that, exciting and people want to see fight, I guarantee more people want to see me fight than they want to see you fight,” the former champion added.
