Alexander Volkanovski went up against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 and lost. While many expected the fight to be blow-for-blow, it sadly ended for ‘The Great’ in the second round itself. All the while, one of his close friends, Mark Zuckerberg, watched from his corner.
The famous CEO of Meta has been coming out in the open about his MMA interests to the degree that he’s got the company worried about his health. At UFC 298, fans were pulled in awe when they saw ‘Zuck’ in Volkanovski’s corner. Soon, a clip of him went viral and even UFC pros went in to troll the billionaire along with the fandom.
Mark Zuckerberg was one of the many celebrities at UFC 298. However, he may have been the only one cornering a fighter. He and Volkanovski have trained before, along with their mutual friend, Israel Adesanya who is currently on a break from the cage. But a clip of ‘Zuck’ being rather awkward is what would soon take the limelight on the internet.

Zuckerberg walked with ‘Volk’ and the fighter gave him a tight hug before stepping into the cage. Clearly, the tech genius was a part of Volkanovski’s team. Before every fighter steps in, they remove their t-shirt and some gear and it gets passed down to the team. As ‘Volk’ gave his gear away, Zuckerberg tried desperately to grab one of the items in order to contribute to the team’s process.
However, he was completely overlooked and couldn’t find the opening to help with a single item. And of course, the clip went rather viral. UFC lightweight talent Terrence McKinney shared the clip with the x-rated caption: “When you’re at your first or*y and have no idea where to start,” soon, fans and pros lined up in the comment sections.
What was Zuckerberg doing there in the first place?
Former bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw commented with a laughing emoji in response to the post.
Meanwhile, UFC welterweight fighter, Jake Matthews reacted with a skull emoji. Meanwhile, bantamweight star Garret Armfield was both stunned and amused.

Clearly, the clip has made an impression on the fandom. It may not have been the team’s intention to leave the billionaire out, but it could have just come off as so. Perhaps they just got busy with their usual flow. Either way, looks like the clip is doing the most on Zuckerberg’s own platforms. Do you find that interesting?
