Michael Chandler seems confused about Conor McGregor’s sudden announcement

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler were supposed to fight last year but USADA stopped McGregor stating that ‘Notorious’ had to test himself several times before stepping into the Octagon. The Irishman obliged their demands to pave the way for the fight to happen. However, it has been months since then and there have been no announcements by Dana White regarding their fight.

The former dual weight champion even called out White for playing games with them, however, seems like the negotiations are taking place. In his latest confession, McGregor added that he would be returning in summer. “It’s all systems go. The Mac; The Notorious will be returning to the UFC Octagon this summer,” said McGregor in a conversation with ESPN.

This move by McGregor shocked Chandler who took to his X handle to express his opinion. He wrote, “I’m not sure I’ll be ready for a summer fight…this came out of the blue…I’ve been out of the loop. Can y’all ask Dana to confirm this?” When asked by one of the fans about his predictions for the fight, he confidently stated that he would emerge victorious, no matter what. “Chandler via however he wants…”

Chandler pointed out the obvious for McGregor as without White’s confirmation there would be no fights. Additionally, ‘Mystic Mac’ has only two fights left in his contract and there have been no talks about extending it according to McGregor.

McGregor is unsure about his future in UFC

Conor McGregor’s contract is about to lapse and there have been no talks about any extension from the UFC. ‘Mystic Mac’s frustration is just increasing day by day. While having a conversation with ESPN, McGregor confessed about his fighting career with the UFC. “I have two fights left in my UFC contract. I’m excited to get them. What’s next? I don’t know. I have not been accosted by, you know, there’s no talk about re-signing. I don’t know how you would even approach someone like me to re-sign,” said Conor Mcgregor.

He further added “What would that look like? I’m sure they are thinking about it. You know, Lorenzo probably would have been at my door two fights ago, maybe to re-sign me.”
