Nate Diaz appears to be ready for a comeback to the UFC. The Stockton native ventured outside the UFC doors to participate in a boxing event against Jake Paul last year; however, doors remained open for him. Diaz initially expressed interest in fighting at UFC 300, but it seems Dana White did not pay much heed to his words. In frustration, Diaz recently called out the UFC CEO, demanding the main event slot for UFC 306.

Headlining UFC 306 is no joke, especially given the venue at the Las Vegas Sphere. Will Dana White give Diaz a chance at the event? So far, although we have no updates, UFC insider Daniel Cormier has revealed his insights on the same. So here’s what he has to say

Nate Diaz in his latest escapade took to his social media to issue a call out to Dana White reminding him about his promise that the doors of the UFC will always be open for him. The Stockton native through a series of social media posts demanded that he should be there at the UFC 306 and should headline it. A bit far-fetched? Well yes, and according to Daniel Cormier, Diaz is acting delusional.

Cormier in his recent YouTube video has come out to school Diaz about his demand. “I like Nate Diaz, but I believe now it is the time for us to be honest with ourselves so that Nate can start to be honest with himself. There are only a couple of people that he can headline a pay-per-view with right now,  just because of where he is in his career. I think that’s Conor McGregor if they do the trilogy and possibly Jorge Masvidal. But we also have to be honest to ourselves in this regard: We are keeping these dudes, Masvidal and Diaz, relevant.”

‘DC’ further emphasized that there are fighters who are more deserving to headline the event and Diaz is not in a position to demand a headliner for now. “Will I watch him on the pay-per-view card? Absolutely. But to be the headliner, with all these great fighters that are deserving of that spot? I don’t think so. I don’t need to see that.”

Cormier assessment is relevant. However, the MMA community might want to witness Nate Diaz having a last rodeo, and seems like Jorge Masvidal is on the same page with the community.

Jorge Masvidal wants another rodeo with Diaz

Jorge Masvidal retired from the world of MMA last year following his brutal defeat against Gilbert Burns but seems like ‘Gamebred’ is ready to make a comeback. Masvidal kicked off 2024 with an announcement of his comeback from retirement. Multiple names are floating around about his possible opponents but seems like Masvidal wants Nate Diaz as his first opponent.

In a conversation with Ariel Helwani at ‘The MMA Hour’, Masvidal said “I would love to do it. We’ve got unfinished business. We’re both guys who get after it and we’re trying to hurt the opponent. I think in boxing he gets a lot of credit because he’s always worked with a lot of great boxers and his standout thing is jiu-jitsu and boxing, so why not do straight boxing? Because obviously the kicks f***** him up in MMA”
