The scene is set for a rematch in the aftermath of UFC 305. Dricus du Plessis successfully defended his middleweight title against Israel Adesanya in the biggest fight of his career, and now, he might be running it back against Sean Strickland, who never got his title rematch. However, ‘Tarzan’ seems to have a small condition regarding the fight against ‘Stillknocks’.

The two middleweight title fights that Sean Strickland fought in took place outside of his native country of the United States. While the first one went down in Australia, the second one took place in Canada. Although he got huge positive reactions in both countries, ‘Tarzan’ wants to fight in a familiar environment this time.

Sean Strickland calls for Dricus du Plessis rematch to take place in the States

Just like Israel Adesanya, who had a little of a home-field advantage in Australia, given that it’s New Zealand’s neighbor, Sean Strickland wants the same. While warning Dricus du Plessis to gear up for the rematch, ‘Tarzan’ mentioned the urge of wanting to fight and perform in front of the Las Vegas crowd.

“Time for war Dutch man… [Expecting to fight in] Vegas man.. I always travel. Let me fight in my country,” Sean Strickland stated in back-to-back tweets. Las Vegas is where the UFC is based and the former champion would love nothing more than to return to the T-Mobile Arena for the championship clash against the South African star. But there’s a catch.

Alex Pereira has been wrecking shop in the light heavyweight division as the champion. But in the aftermath of UFC 305, ‘Poatan’ hinted that he could be coming back to the 185-pound division. That could spell trouble for Strickland.

Is Alex Pereira returning to the middleweight division?

Apparently, Alex Pereira is not done with his previous weight class. While most people, including Joe Rogan, believe that 205 pounds is the natural weight class for the champion, ‘Poatan’ even mentioned wanting to fight in the heavyweight division with the aim of becoming the sole 3-division champion in the UFC’s history. But now, Pereira seems to be planning to revert to the middleweight division for one final run, or one last fight, to be exact.

“Coming down to 185 one more time,” Alex Pereira stated in his recent Instagram post. Instead of the Israel Adesanya trilogy, we might get to see him fight Dricus du Plessis, someone that he’s never faced before. A fresh new matchup is always going to be an exciting one. However, Pereira has his fight against Khalil Rountree Jr. coming up, and maybe after that, Dana White could consider giving him another middleweight title fight.

All fingers point to Sean Strickland when people talk about a deserving middleweight title contender. But until there’s any word from Dana White, it’s uncertain which path he’ll go down to. Let us know your thoughts on Strickland’s claim to the 185-pound gold.
