UFC President Dana White Joins Mark Zuckerberg’s $500B Venture To Provide “Immersive” Experience for MMA Fans

Dana White and Mark Zuckerberg have entered a partnership to offer MMA fans one of the greatest experiences ever. The UFC and the $500 billion worth Meta have worked together to deliver a social virtual-reality platform wherein MMA fans can watch their favorite fights in 4k, with 180-degree streams of fights.

To add the cherry on top, Meta’s blog post also shared the schedule of the upcoming matchups that would be available for fans to stream live in Xtadium. The officials claim that virtual reality would indeed offer one of the most immersive experiences to the fans.

VR offers uniquely immersive events, letting fans get up close and personal for every takedown, submission, and knockout with UFC FIGHT PASS in Xtadium and Worlds,” said Sarah Malkin, the Director of Metaverse Entertainment Content.

Craig Borsari, Chief Content Officer and Executive Producer at UFC revealed that his team successfully tested the system last year. Without a doubt, the results pleased them. He further said, “The schedule of live MMA events available in Xtadium through UFC FIGHT PASS is growing and we’ll be helping to build out a dedicated UFC world in Meta Horizon Worlds that will offer the greatest fights in UFC history in a 4K 180-degree environment. We’re just scratching the surface of how we can use this technology to create greater fan engagement and grow this sport.”

The fans can watch the fights live from free cage-side seats through Xtadium. Fans can also tune in with their friends or enjoy the fights alone. In addition to that, the fans can change the viewing angles to their comfort for maximum entertainment. Following the matches, the account holders can access the UFC PPV cards and other original content.

The co-founder and CTO of YBVR, Sebastian Amengual, believed that it was indeed a milestone for the team. With rapidly evolving technology, one can expect far greater experiences in the near future. The Xtadium live stream would commence from the 4th of August, with LFA 164. The schedule went on till the events for December, 2023.
