A single diabolic performance can change the course of the career of any fighter if they fight under the tutelage of UFC and that’s exactly what happened with the bantamweight fighter Umar Nurmagomedov. The ‘Young Eagle’ continued his winning streak after he ousted number #2 ranked bantamweight gold contender Cory Sandhagen at UFC Abu Dhabi. Nurmagomedov took the striker to the towns of Dagetsani wrestling.

The Dagestani attempted five knockdowns against Cory Sandhagen at the event and had the most control time. At the end of the day, Nurmagomedov clinched the victory by way of unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 50-45, 49-46, and 49-46. After the fight, Nurmagomedov called for a title fight next and it appears that Dana White would agree with that as the latest rankings heavily favor Umar Nurmagomedov.

Umar Nurmagomedov might be next on the line for the bantamweight title

“Title shot. I don’t worry who’s going [to win between] these two. It doesn’t matter for me who’s going to be next. Just give me title shot.O’Malley, Merab, or someone else, it doesn’t matter. I’m here. Now guys, talk how I beat nobody. Cory [is] No. 2 [ranked in the world]. Now you can cry, I’m coming for you,” said the undefeated Dagestani after dominating Sandhagen. Regardless, Dana White might consider Nurmagomedov’s suggestion considering that the new ranking table has something unexpected.

After the masterclass performance, it was expected to witness a sudden rise in Umar Nurmagomedov’s ranking, however, no one was expecting the ‘Young Eagle’ to jump 8 ranks to become the number #2 of the bantamweight division. Cory Sandhagen on the other hand slid down to #4th ranking. In addition to that Deiveson Figueiredo is now ranked #5th in the bantamweight division.
