The UFC has completed 11 events in 2024 and the rankings list has already seen multiple changes. Now, with the wrap-up of UFC Atlantic City, the UFC rankings seem to have been shaken up once again. This time the focus was on the changes in the women’s flyweight rankings, and French star Manon Fiorot seems closer to realizing her dream of becoming a champion.
Manon Fiorot extended her undefeated UFC run to a 7-fight winning streak last weekend at the expense of her opponent, Erin Blancfield’s winning streak. The fight went all five rounds and she earned a unanimous decision victory. This was an important fight for the Frenchwoman as it had its effects on the rankings.

The win over Erin Blanchfield did wonders for Manon Fiorot, who made a significant jump in the rankings. The Frenchwoman jumped one place up from 3rd to the 2nd spot in the flyweight rankings, inching closer to getting the title, and could probably give Valentina Shevchenko a tough competition to grab a title shot against Alexa Grasso.

However, that was not the only change for Manon Fiorot. She also jumped two places up from the 6th spot to the 4th spot in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings. Apart from Fiorot, former two-time champion Rose Namajunas also jumped to the 6th spot from the 7th spot. It seems like many contenders are on the rise in the women’s flyweight division. While it may be great news for Fiorot, a video clip from her last fight showed her tapping out to Erin Blamchfield.

Hours after UFC Atlantic City was wrapped up, a video clip from the main event fight surfaced on social media. raising suspicions of a loss for Manon Fiorot. Her opponent, Erin Blanchfiled, had her best showing during the second round when she caught the 34-year-old in a guillotine choke. Did Manon Fiorot tap in the first round against Erin Blanchfield? You be the judge. I don't see why else her hand would go up onto Erin's leg and do this. Seemed to me like the roll squeezed the little room she had left to breathe and she may have tapped. #UFC #UFCAtlanticCity pic.twitter.com/vjbup02IG6

However, many people believe that it could be one of those moments where we witnessed a phantom tap, which has happened in many UFC fights. Nevertheless, it seemed to have no effect on what transpired at Atlantic City on Saturday which is evident with the aforementioned changes in the UFC rankings.
