Colby Covington has recently been in the news after Ian Garry showed his desire to fight him at UFC 303 next. Despite several call-outs from the talented Irish fighter, ‘Chaos’ is yet to respond to it. A win against ‘Chaos’ would propel ‘The Future’ into the top five fighters in the welterweight division. To end all such claims, Covington recently appeared on the ‘ The Rush’ podcast with Maxx Crosby to discuss his next fight. During his conversation, he not only ended Garry’s false claims but also revealed his next opponent. Let us find out what he had to say.

The former interim welterweight champion was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 296 when he took on Leon Edwards for the title. ‘Chaos’ lost the fight via decision and couldn’t match up to the skills of ‘Rocky’. Since then, the 36-year-old has yet to make a return to the Octagon. Amidst all the chaos and callouts from Ian Garry, Covington, in his recent conversation gave an insight about his future in the UFC. Covington said, “I love this company with all my heart. They have made me a multimillionaire. So thankful and grateful for what they have done. So I am gonna let them decide.”

While speaking to the host Maxx Crosby, the former champion also cleared the air as to how the Ian Garry fight is just a speculation. He is yet to receive any official confirmation from the UFC about his rumored fight. However, he did reveal his next opponent. The 35-year-old said, “I don’t know. Maybe this kid Belal Muhammad who has been talking a lot you know. He’s up there in the rankings above me. So if I can beat that guy, it gets me right back to a title fight. So I don’t know. I can fight anybody. I don’t have like names in particular, but anyone, anytime, anywhere, the best fighters the sport has ever produced.”

Covington will look to settle the differences with Ian Garry once and for all

The rivalry between Ian Garry and Colby Covington began just after his fight at UFC 298. After defeating Geoff Neal convincingly the 26-year-old called out the former interim champion. He even claimed to make him retire from the sport after defeating him.

The comments did not sit well with the Clovis native and just like his usual self, he made some comments on Garry’s wife. Since then, the pair has been involved in a lot of social media wars with the Irishmen trying desperately to get the attention of ‘Chaos’.
