UFC 301 is all set to take place in Brazil and the fans are excited to witness the event. Some of the best fighters in the UFC are participating in the event but Brazil’s own Paulo Costa is not one of them. After matching Robert Whittaker toe to toe at UFC 298, fans believed ‘The Eraser’ would be featured at UFC 301 next. A lot of hype was built up because of fake news that was circulating on social media. Per the news, Roman Dolidze was the fighter who was scheduled to take on Costa next, per recent reports, which has finally been debunked by a recent X (Twitter Post).

Giorgi Kokiashvili, in his post, shared, “I’ve seen many posts across the social media about Dolidze vs Costa being booked at #UFC 301 in Rio. I can confirm that the news is fake, and the fight is not booked/ in works. Dolidze is currently in Georgia where he builds his own GYM and pays attention to proper construction.” With the news finally out, the Brazilian fans will be a bit disappointed. However, they might witness Alex Pereira at UFC 301 as the light heavyweight king has shown his willingness to fight there.

Alex Pereira wants to feature at UFC 301

36-year-old Alex Pereira is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the UFC currently. The light heavyweight champion has achieved massive success in a brief period. Despite being a two-division champion, ‘Poatan’ constantly pushes himself to become the best fighter. He is all set to defend his title at UFC 300 against the former champion Jamahal Hill. However, according to Josh ‘The Punk’ Thomson, the Brazilian wants to feature at UFC 301 as well.

In a recent episode of ‘Weighing In’ podcast while speaking to ‘Big’ John McCarthy, Thomson shared his own reasons. He said, “I also heard that what’s his name gets out of Jamal UFC 300 that he wants to be on that card – Alex Pereira. I guess apparently that was the part of his contract negotiation if he gets the win and comes out healthy that he’s allowed to fight on that fight card. That was apparently part of his agreement to fighting on 300. So we’ll see”.
